English is Mean.
If I wrote a textbook, it'd be called English is Mean. As a teacher, parent, and ESOL tutor, I often told students, kids, and tutees (?!) that English is mean. Here are a few of my favorite examples. Add your own! and, please contribute through PayPal

Macarons vs. Macaroons: What's the Difference?
https://www.allrecipes.com/article/macarons-vs-macaroons/

Here's the example:
"He possessed the ability to summon eldritch creatures through a portal to another dimension located in his body."
and the definition:
"Eldritch things are spooky and weird — they make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up."
